I think the main reason why love stinks is because you can't make people fall in love with you. If not that, then it's impossibly difficult to persuade someone to fall in love with you. Or at least in my experience, I have a better chance of being elected president of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol than I have of persuading someone to fall in love with me. Since that's the case, I have to go through the heart-braking, time-consumming mess of finding someone who will fall in love with me on their own. With there being a population of 6 billion -- half women -- then the chances of finding some one who will fall in love with me on their own should be pretty good. But my real life expereince tells me that I have a much better chance of winning the lotto even though I don't play the lotto!
So there ya go. Love continues to stink, life continues to suck, and I'll probably be alone forever. And yes I am aware that many of you may disagree with that conclusion. But even so, that's just how my current way of thinking works. It's a world without consensus, you know!

Re: You can't make people fall in love with you. (Well that's ANCIENT news!)
Tue, November 21, 2006 - 2:26 PMWell, define love then.
Basically, under the normal definition if it, I can be lovable, I can be winning, but, when you get right down to it, I keep picking women who are less loving than I would want. I suspect the opposite to be true too--that is, I'm not all I'm cracked up to be either. Or, maybe I'm just pathetically blaming myself? I don't know...and certainly, if I really wanted to know and really wanted to do something about it, I'd try to fix it, not by persuading someone to fall in love with me, but persuading myself that I am worthy of love and by showing compassion to others in a similar vein.

Tue, November 21, 2006 - 3:31 PMWow, is the presidency of the 12 colonies of Kobol up for grabs? Is Laura OK? Maybe I'd have better luck there too!
